                                   HONEYMOON!!!

Well we did it!! We got hitched last December and FINALLY got to take our HONEYMOON a year later!! It's official we are Mr.& Mrs. Lovebird! (No that's not our real last names silly! But because of all the blending of families and me keeping my maiden name we made up our own) I would LOVE to see the look on my husbands friends and co-workers if he came in one day and introduced himself as Mr.Matthew Lovebird though!

So after he spent several weeks and many many hours online, we headed off to CABO SAN LUCAS in MEXICO!! WOW!! Is all I can really say! It was AMAZING, absolutely BREATHTAKING!
Here's a few FUN FACTS about Cabo!
  1. Population is around 70,000
  2. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez
  3. Cabo is known as the marlin capital of the world! Charter a fishing trip and they will clean the fish for you! Take it into town and for around $8 have it cooked and it will be served with a few sides of beans, rice and fresh guacamole
  4. Area code is 624
  5. The weather is perfect, rains less than 10 days a year
So we started out on our adventure driving to Minneapolis in the freezing cold! But who could sleep with all the EXCITEMENT!!  Well that and all the butterflys in my stomach about the flight! You see this flight I promised Matt that I would fly without any flying pills!! Apparently when we flew to Miami a few years ago, I accidently took an extra one without realizing it and made a complete fool of myself and could hardly make my way through the airport!
So here we go! I make my way down the makeshift hallway, knees buckelling under me as I walk, praying the whole way, I was cold and clamy, I felt like I was on the death row walk. It just isn't logical to me that something so big and heavy can stay in the air! I know the stats, its safer than driving, but to me falling to the earth or into the ocean from the sky is alot scarier than being rear ended!
I pause at the plane door, place my hand on it uttering one final prayer of safety! Okay BREATHE!!!! I have my lattee, ipod, book, gum, comfy flame resistant clothes, notebook, sketchbook, and magazine.Quickly filling my mind, getting in my own little world. then the tears start to flow, out of nowhere. We finally arrive in Dalls to do this all over again!
Getting off the plane in SAN JOSE was a relief to be alive and surreal all at once! We walked out onto the tarmac inhaling the warm air, surrounded by mountains and beauty everywhere!
The architect was FASCINATING! I had never seen so much beautiful stone and tile work before! I remembered back to remodeling the salon and I priced out a shimmery white back splash of little white tiles and choked on the price! But here it was everywhere! I wanted to bring some back!
Pulling up to the resort, RIU SANTE FE,  was like another world! I totally looked like a tourist with my head up uttering the same words over again, "wow, this is beautiful, honey look at this, wow, I can't believe we are here, take my picture here, look at this etc.!" The words HOLA SENORITA, margarita? Brought me back to the reality I was in a little piece of Heaven!
This was our first all inclusive vacation! So many pools, swim up bars, restaurants, shops, tennis courts, ping pong tables, a spa and a gym all right there! If it would've been an apartment complex I would've sent for the kids!
Listening to the ocean waves as we fell asleep and again as we woke up was the most BEAUTIFUL sound, well that and my honey whispering he loved me in the morning!
We went on many ADVENTURES!! From local shopping, flea markets, bartering, eating at Diegos restaurant a FEAST of lobster and coconut shrimp and steak for $16!! Being sung to by mariachi boys, meeting the FRIENDLIEST people , wild rides on the local very dangerous buses! Even went on a whale watching tour! I Actually more like a wale chasing adventure! When the fisherman spotted the whales, they radioed our boat and away we went!
My favorite experience was meeting all the wonderful people, laughing on the streets and eating at the local places, we did go to Cabo Wabo for a Mojito but saddly Sammy Hagar was not the bartender!
What I brought back from this trip is this, I have been realizing for the past few months, and if you follow any of my other blogs you know, about realizing how quickly life goes by, we are still young I'm 37 and Matt is 40. How did we get to this point? Before we know it we well of been married this long! I don't want to miss out on life, I don't want to be the busy person that says 'Ill get to it one day" and then that day never come. I want to live without regrets, build a beautiful scrapbook of our lives, so when we take our final trip to Cabo on our 90th birthday, we can flip through the pages of a love well lived!
Enjoy the pictures and can't wait to share our next adventure!! It's going to be here quicker than you think!!!!!
                                        Dios te bendiga,
